I am delighted to have be invited to show 4 of my mixed media Cyanotype unique prints in Shorelines and Mountains an exhibition of 7 Contemporary artists with associations with Ullapool. This exhibition has been curated by AnTalla Solais and runs until February 2026. All works are for sale.

I’ve been enjoying experimenting with collaging my cyanotypes together. Initially, I loved the simplicity of the silhouette alongside the joy of drawing with sunlight. Yes, we do have some on the Isle of Lewis :). It is possible to create cyanotypes under UV light, but for me, it is important to be using the Hebridean sunlight as my drawing medium. This is what drew me (no pun intended) to working with the medium of cyanotype, as well as the process being low tech and also  natural.

The longer I live in Lewis the more I can feel the concepts and processes of my work becoming more aligned with both my body and the natural world and “how” I do things being as important as “why”. The relationship between process and concept has always been central to my practice and I am enjoying see it starting to develop in new directions.

If you are passing Ullapool, do pop in and see the exhibition.
